Jaime Morales is a composer influenced by minimalism, jazz, and electronic music. Recent pieces have been focused on creating a unique rhythmic language inspired by composers such as Akiho and Reich. In addition to concert music, he has also worked on several short films and video games. Jaime is the recipient of the Sarofim Composition Award and has received commissions from the University of Houston Aura Contemporary Ensemble and the University of Houston Jazz Orchestra. He graciously welcomes collaborative projects and has written music for art exhibits such as the Kiosk K67 project, and the Intimate Confessions exhibition. He has worked with ensembles such as Hub New Music, The Rhythm Method, and the Kazuko Saxophone Quartet. Recent works include Fluorescent Firefly Forest written for The Rhythm Method and The Seed Shop written for Aura Contemporary Ensemble.
